WHO: New York Times and International Bestselling Author, Kevin J. Anderson

Kevin J. Anderson has published 140 books, 54 of which have been national or international bestsellers.  He has written numerous novels in the Star Wars, X-Files, and Dune universes, as well as unique steampunk fantasy novels Clockwork Angels and Clockwork Lives, written with legendary rock drummer Neil Peart, based on the concept album by the band Rush. His original works include the Saga of Seven Suns series, the Terra Incognita fantasy trilogy, the Saga of Shadows trilogy, and his humorous horror series featuring Dan Shamble, Zombie PI. He has edited numerous anthologies, written comics and games, and the lyrics to two rock CDs. Anderson and his wife Rebecca Moesta are the publishers of WordFire Press.

WHAT: Book signing at Barksdale AFB, open to all public.  Mr. Anderson will be on hand signing books and he is also available for interview. As an international bestselling author, he has done many TV, Radio and print interviews and is very engaging as a guest.

In addition to being a bestselling author, Mr. Anderson is a long-time judge for the highly acclaimed international Writers of the Future Contest, which along with its companion Illustrators of the Future Contest, has entrants from over 160 countries. Each year, 12 writer and 12 illustrator winners are selected and published in an anthology as the year’s best new talent in science fiction and fantasy.  This year marks the 33rd year with the publication of L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 33, now a national bestseller.  Mr. Anderson will be able to answer questions regarding this contest for any aspiring writer or artist.

The Writers of the Future writing contest ( was initiated by L. Ron Hubbard in 1983 to provide a means for aspiring writers to get that much-needed break. Due to the success of the Writing Contest, the companion Illustrators of the Future Contest was created in 1988. The intensive mentoring process has proven very successful.

The 380 past winners of the Writing Contest have published 1,150 novels and nearly 4,450 short stories. They have produced 32 New York Times bestsellers and their works have sold over 53 million copies.

The 310 past winners of the Illustrating Contest have produced over 4,500 illustrations, 356 comic books, graced 594 books and albums with their art and visually contributed to 36 TV shows and 46 major movies.
