A gala celebration of the winners of the Writers & Illustrators of the Future Contests took place on April 8, 2022 in Hollywood, California.
Workshop attendees heard from Nina Kiriki Hoffman, Kevin J. Anderson, Rebecca Moesta, Dr. Nnedi Okorafor, Bill Fawcett, and Bob Eggleton.
Dean Wesley Smith and Larry Niven talk to the writers while the illustrators hear from Bea Jackson, Tom Wood and Larry Elmore.
The writers submitted their 24-hour stories and learned about professionalism, while the artists learned the basics of commercial art.
Monday opened with a tour of the Author Services building for writers and illustrators alike. After the tour, the illustrators met Coordinating Judge Echo Chernik, while the writers learned about conventions and traditional vs. self-publishing.
